About
CANboat is a set of open-source programs for NMEA 2000, the CAN-bus network that carries navigation, engine, and tank data on most modern boats. It includes an analyzer, a converter, and definitions for the PGNs manufacturers actually send.
Use it when you need to get instrument data off the boat's backbone and into another system — a logger, Signal K, or your own code — without a proprietary gateway. It is a command-line toolkit for builders and technicians, not a chart plotter or a fleet portal.
