Q88

Q88 is the system tanker desks use to store vessel particulars and answer the questionnaires that chartering and vetting require. Owners maintain the data once; counterparties pull a current Q88 instead of emailing a spreadsheet that has already gone stale.

It is now part of Veson Nautical, which also offers Q88 Dry for bulk carriers and the Baltic questionnaire. Q88 is not a voyage P&L system and not a safety-rating agency. It is the shared vessel file. RightShip and Pole Star answer different questions — risk scores and sanctions — and often sit next to Q88 rather than replace it.
